This project focuses on the development of the Health Tracker, an innovative wearable device that monitors the physical exertion of employees and patients. It is designed to support the ageing population in the northern Netherlands. A collaboration between Groningen-based research institutions and SMEs, including the University of Groningen (RUG), the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), Relitech and Lode Holding, combines respiratory analysis with ECG and motion sensors in the Health Tracker to provide accurate measurement data. Thanks to the Health Tracker’s user-friendliness and reliability, overexertion in the workplace can be prevented, leading to reduced absenteeism and a higher quality of work and life. The project creates new economic opportunities in the region and contributes to the transition towards a digital and healthier society, as well as the sustainable employability of workers.
