SPCTR is developing an AI-driven platform for real-time tissue analysis during cancer surgery. With its first product, surgeons will gain insight into the margins of removed tumour tissue within minutes, enabling them to assess during the same operation whether further tissue removal is necessary. In doing so, SPCTR aims to reduce the need for reoperations and additional treatments, lower healthcare costs and improve the quality of care for cancer patients. The platform is initially being developed for breast cancer surgery and can subsequently be scaled up to other solid tumours.
